Sexual Disorders Research Chair

As the Chair of Sexual Disorders, Dr. Heather Moulden’s research objectives include identifying and analyzing the development and exacerbation of problematic sexual behaviours.

More specifically, the research group will analyze the social, legal, and clinical determinants that are associated with problematic sexual behaviour and the development or manifestation of sexual disorders. They will also identify and explore key barriers — such as stigma, systemic restrictions, and clinical symptoms — that contribute to or exacerbate problematic sexual behaviours. This work will help them develop and implement strategies to promote sexual well-being, improve rehabilitation outcomes, and ultimately reduce rates of sexual harm.
